Compression garments provide the last essential component in delivering the optimum results from any reconstructive surgery. They minimize swelling, flush out residual fluids, and assist in the healing process.
DMI offers a large selection of designs in three colors and a size range of XS through 4XL for most styles. We feature patented designs chosen through our many years of experience working with physicians.
Our garments provide the ideal level of compression or support by achieving gradient compression through a unique fusion of pattern design, fabric selection, and interior fabric panels. The PowerNet fabric is constructed using an open hexagonal unit that allows for a 4-way stretch. Plus, our products maintain their compressive or supportive properties during extended wear, a concept known as memory.
Every garment is designed to suit your objective with features to ensure comfort, including seamless panels at surgical incision sites, non-marking flat seams, an anatomically correct open crotch, and gradient compression.
Pattern Design: Incorporating Computer Aided Technology (CAD), each pattern measurement is carefully considered to provide accurate physiological support or compression to explicit body areas according to the garment's purpose. Placement of seams, zippers, sensitivity guards, tags, and closures is located to ensure our customers' comfort.
Fabric: Composition determines a fabric's compressive ability. Each fabric component's fiber weight, such as nylon or spandex, can vary the modulus (tension strength at a given elongation) for each unique blend of fabric. In short, fabric that contains the same components but in varying weights can have potentially drastic differences in compressive or supportive abilities. The selection of fabric, and its composition, is essential when determining a product's purpose and delivering accurate compression or support.
It is recommended that the garments be hand washed. They should NEVER be placed in the dryer. (This could cause the garment to shrink and then become unusable). Use a mild laundry detergent. To dry the garments, we suggest that you place them flat on a towel. This is the reason that we recommend the purchase of two first stage garments. One needs to be on your body while the other is being washed and is drying.
